A person with alcohol addiction has the inability to control their drinking due to both a physical and emotional dependence on alcohol. The symptoms to alcohol addiction are repeated alcohol consumption despite related legal and health problems. There are different types of treatments and options available for those with alcohol addiction, such as counseling with a healthcare professional, a detoxification program in a hostipal or medical facility for those who require additional help, and medication to help reduse the desire to drink.
